The masks that arrived today :)

Here i took some Photos of my brother (who will be one of the boys in the video ) wearing the masks that just arrived, we plan to use these on the older boys and girls. x I

Prop List

Here is our prop list, and we have the majority of the props needed.. so at the moment it is still our shopping list of must haves! Many things have been ordered and we look forward to decorating the woods with all these lovely thingssss! xT

Final Ideas and Locations

Here we have created another moodboard for our video , showing some of the final ideas and locations. It includes our location which we are planning on being Larmer Tree Gardens, using the wood area as well as the pretty setting to decorate our set, involving old chairs and tables in a sort of tea party atmosphere, lamp shades hanging as well as lanterns and bunting. we will also include a swing, decorated in ribbon and flowers. The costumes will we bohemian, floaty dresses for the girls and a fantastic mr fox inspired outfit for the older boys, both girls and boys will be wearing the masks we have brought below. The main people (two young boys) will wear pajamas and and animal hats with ears. Other effects we will include are smoke in the woods, bubbles and torch painting. Using all these ideas and techniques we hope to achieve the effect we want. x I

Permission

We emailed Alt-j's record label Infectious Music last week and did not recieve a reply, so we called them instead today and a response agreeing to the permission of the use of their song. x

This was the confirmation we recieved. Yayyyy x 

Set and Costume

Yesterday, Imi and I went to the skip and purchased an old victorian looking chair, a small wooden round table and two very large lamp shades. We have started our planning for the set and will upload some quick drawings of what it shall look like later on. Though we want to stay away from the theme of Alice In Wonderland we would like to take the idea of having a ''tea party'' in the woods involving Where The Wild Things are having our actors wearing masks. Costume is also very important in our video, we would like the girl actors dressed in beautiful bohemian, vintage and quirky dress's. Having the boys dressed also in quirky outfits, inspired by Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl, with the tie, waist coat and tailed jackets. We are also using young boys in parts of our video and would like them dressed in animal outfits to match 'Max' from Where The Wild Things Are. xT

Here are the lyrics from 'Breezeblocks' which we intend to use.  Within them involves the words 'Do you know where the wild things go'. These relate to what we are wanting to base our music video on focusing at the book/ film 'Where The Wild Things Are'.  Soon with these lyrics we will look at creating a sound plan, to fit are ideas of the music video to the music appropriately. x I

Main song choice and Mood Board

This is our main song choice, though we are waiting on permission. With this song we plan to relate it to the book and film Where The Wild Things Are as Alt-j based this song on this book. This track stood out to us the most with its unusual pace of sound and mellow yet upbeat tone.

Here we have created a mood board of our ideas towards this song...

All these images we have chosen to create our mood board are the ideas we would like to have in our music video. The idea of having lanterns and candles we feel would create a very pretty effect in the dark around the woods with different coloured tissue paper stuck to the jam jars. We would like the dress the woods as well as our actors as everything has to look perfect and not to dull or over the top either. Having balloons, dream catchers, ribbons, blankets, furniture and such things to match out music and costume. xT

Two combined as ONE :)

Combing these two blogs together with both ideas from each we decided to use this blog for our final ideas and preparation as well as the final piece. We started off working independently with our own ideas, then realized that both our ideas related well, therefore we found a new but much more exciting final idea. Discussing our projects we found that putting our ideas together would create a stronger music video. x I x T
